Florida’s existing home, condo sales up in February

February existing-home sales decline following sustained gains

ORLANDO, Fla. – March 21, 2011 – Florida’s existing home and existing condo sales rose in February, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors®. Existing home sales increased 13 percent last month with a total of 13,701 homes sold statewide compared to 12,164 homes sold in February 2010, according to Florida Realtors. February’s statewide sales of existing condos rose 29 percent compared to the previous year’s sales figure.

Seventeen of Florida’s metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) reported increased existing home sales in February; 18 MSAs had higher condo sales. It’s the third month in a row that Florida

Jacksonville, FL - Waterleaf was one of those communities that rode the bubble up to the point of homes being soldwaterleaf_600 for over $400,000 and now have seen those valuations cut in half or more in some cases. This is a horrible horrible thing for many of the people who bought homes at the top or near it. There is nothing good about that and I feel terrible for the valuations that had sucked us all in (I live in the community myself).
