Discovering All the Parks in Jacksonville

In total, there are 262 parks in Jacksonville, not including the many recreation and community centers.

This is the largest urban park system found in the country and over 80,000 acres of space is dedicated to community parks. Most of these parks are preservation parks, such as Reddie Point Reserve, but many are city parks, as well.

The good news for new residents, there will certainly be a park near wherever you choose to settle. However, living near one of the top parks will provide a better experience than choosing a new home and just hoping a good park is located close by. Here are four of the best parks found in the area.

South Beach Park

Found on Osceola Avenue and South Beach Parkway, this park provides one of the best in the area. It has plenty of shade and so much more to offer. The play structure looks like a castle and you can enjoy the six different picnic shelters, as well. The park is also home to volleyball tennis and basketball courts, a grassy field and a fitness track.

Sunshine Playground

Found off Beach Boulevard and close to the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, this park is a great choice for those with young children. It provides a great playground, a jogging/walking track, a huge gazebo, seven picnic tables and plenty of other features.

Landon Park in San Marco

With the benches set up perfect for watching your children play, swing and enjoy themselves, this is a great choice for your home park. This park also has a rose garden, plenty of open space and a small water fountain.

Clark House Park in Orange Park

Found at 1047 Kingsley Avenue, this is a great park for residents of Orange Park. It provides plenty of shade, a butterfly garden, pavilion, playground shaped like a castle and walking trails.
