                           Downtown Jacksonville Chamblin's Uptown
If you're a fan of Chamblin's Book Mine then you're an average Jacksonvillian, but if you're absolutely obsessed with Chamblin's then you might want to read on because you're about to have the chance to level up!
Ron Chamblin had a vision for expanding his namesake bookstore when he bought 225 N. Laura Street. Not only did he hope to expand and improve Chamblin's Uptown book store and coffee shop, he wanted to add a restaurant and apartments! With his $900,000 renovation plan approved by the Downtown Development Review Board in 2018, Breaking Ground Contracting is slated to begin his rennovations on this building originally constructed in 1904 in the next few weeks.
The mixed-use space will include 2nd and 3rd floor apartments ranging from 722-1,141 square feet with rent prices between $900-$1,995. The first floor will house a restaurant (to be named), all of which will be attached to Chamblin's Uptown right next door! The full build-out is expected to take under a year, so if you've been eyeing an apartment downtown or you've always had a dream of living right next to a Chamblin's, your wishes are about to be fulfilled.
