Duval County isn't known as one of the better places for school districts, but within this county, there are some great schools. When it comes to elementary schools, here are the ones you want to consider if you're relocating to the area.

John Stockton Elementary School

With over 500 students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grate, this school is found at the top of the lists for Jacksonville. Parents love sending their kids to this public charter school because of the concentration in science, technology and math. It was names as a "School of Distinction" by Magnet Schools of America.

Serves: Avondale, Ortega, Riverside and Westside

Bartram Springs Elementary School

Another great elementary school with high rating is Bartram Springs. This school has about 700 students and provides a great traditional choice for elementary school children.

Serves: Southeastern area of Duval County

J. Allen Axson Montessori Academy

With around 500 students enrolled every year, this school is one of the better choices. It's a public Montessori school and was the first of its kind in Duval County.

Serves: Zone 7 (Beaches and Intracoastal) and Zone 2 and 3 (Arlington and Northside)

Hendricks Avenue Elementary School

Known as a five-star school, this elementary school serves around 700 students annually. This is a traditional type of school and provides plenty of benefits for students.

Serves: Southside and San Marco

Mandarin Oaks Elementary School

One of the larger elementary schools, Mandarin Oaks is known as a five-star school in Jacksonville. Around 1,200 students attend this elementary and they still keep a very low teacher to student ration.
